Its not even proximity..its kin..we like people who are like us no matter how far we or they travel.
We have loads of Caribeans very well established..they give the new Africans a help in hand..asylum seekers ect get good social services often better than needy natives..they complain about the influx of polish workers.

I have visited Poland and was so impressed..their country is clean..the standed of education is high, people are kind and friendly and very family orientated..i have no problem with Polish people coming here and working..they are very hard workers and like the Irish they are great at building, they are polite, have good manners and commit relatively few crimes.

After careful observation the only solution to poverty is an enforced min wage that typical working families can actualy survive on..its only greed by corps and gov that is causing all this problem..they cant do the simple maths..what is the result of unmanagable poverty?

It doesnt stay in its house..it comes out onto the street, in the emergency rooms in mental health, in the courts, prisons, in the schools and colleges.
People hate others when things arent going well for themselves.. frustration, resentment hatred and violence are the products of govs stingy ways the cost is countless..al this profit made through the proceeds of war at the tax payers expence..this money could help a lot of children have a better life, better education, and better health..people should be setting higher standards for the decicion makers furnishing their fat asses in parliment..feathering their own nests and not having a clue or sparing a thought for the children of our future..anyway a fence aint gonna cure it.

I can agree w about 1/2 of that, and it sounds like your heart is in the right place. Price controls (like a minimum wage) never work tho, they just devalue the fiat currency. Hard money and efficient standards in accordance with Natural Law are my solutions. Employers need to be responsible for the wellbeing of their employees (as well as their customers!).

Definitely war profiteering is bad, and helping needy kids is good. What Would Jesus Do? Would he go into debt to kill foreigners he'd never met, build a fence to keep the darkies out... or would he sell his own belongings and spend his last penny to help the poor?

I think we all know the answer.

TJ...as to your earlier post. As a capitalist that owns my own masonry contracting business, I would much rather pay double for a legal worker. There are ample amounts of people looking for jobs, particularly in our line of work. There are also hold-ups and gaps between jobs, and we get many calls and emails of guys looking for work. I would rather help my friends and neighbors with a job, than someone from another country.
That being said...these Mexicans just mowed my lawn...and a damn fine job they did. They even wiped off the grass that blew onto my car! That's service:)

They do pretty well in restaurants too.

Of course; they like to work hard for low wages. They'll excel no matter where you put them. Everyone knows that.

I have the same mentality as evidenced by my career in "the hospitality industry". I work right along side of those guys every day.

Mucho trabajo, poco dinero, mi amigo. La misma mierda todo los dias. Aye guay.

46. I think they might not make good brain surgeons or rocket scientists, at least not the illegals...

If you were willing to put them through school, the ones who have what it take would learn, same as anyone else. No money, no opportunity, no brain surgery.

Whose $ ?

I am willing to tutor my employees, but prefer not to pay for the worlds schooling.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Plenty of people have found opportunity via ingenuity, rather than socialized education.
